Unit 3.1 What Makes Us Famous

My 3rd graders have been busy with our first unit, What Makes Us Famous.  They read the Roberto Clemente Story, and made a timeline where they organized the story events.  We studied fiction and nonfiction, literary genres, and parts of a book/informational text. Currently, they are learning about the sense, how to make sentences, and transitions.

We will begin to read the story "Estrellita Say Goodbye to Her Island".  

5th and 6th Grade Text Features/Parts of a Book

Students worked on an assignment where they had to create a chart.  Using the Parts of a Book/ Text Features, they used a story from their textbook to answer questions.  5th grade used the story "Find the Titianic"; 6th grade used "El Niño".  They did a superb job!!
