6th Grade Unit 2 Persuasive Writing
Since Thanksgiving was coming up, my 6th graders wrote a persuasive paragraph called "Don't Eat Turkey". Here they had to convince the reader to eat anything but turkey. Some of them came up with really funny ideas. They did an amazing job!

Discovery of Puerto Rico and Thanksgiving
It seems as if all the holidays came one after the other this month. Yesterday we celebrated the Discovery of Puerto Rico; and this Thursday, Thanksgiving. Here are some activities my kids did for these two holidays.

3rd Grade Writing
Last week, 3rd graders learned about the first of the writing process: Prewriting. During the first step, they brainstormed about Thanksgiving. After, they formed sentences. In another lesson, they learned paragraph structure. They used the sentences they had made, and put them in a paragraph.

2nd Grade Unit 2 Seasons
2nd graders have been learning about the seasons. In the lesson I integrated some pictures of paintings found in the Ponce Museum of Art that were related to the seasons. After, the kids made an accordion foldable and made their own seasons book. They came out amazing!
6th Grade Unit 2 Types of Writing Veteran's Day
6th graders are studying elements in writing forms: descriptive, narrative, expository, and persuasive. They made a shutterfold foldable. Next, they had to write each paragraph on the flap that corresponded to the form of writing. They did a great job!

3rd Grade Types of Writing Descriptive/Narrative Shutterfold Foldable
My 3rd graders started learning about elements of descriptive and narrative writing. For this activity they made a shutterfold foldable, where they had to read each paragraph and write it on the narrative or descriptive flap. Since Monday is Veteran's Day, I decided to integrate the holiday in the lesson.
